Feeling like at home
So after nearly four years of being in Shanghai and the possibility of a fifth I feel the need to experience "home" as often as I can. One of the perks post Expo in Shanghai is the opening of the Mercedes Benz Arena across from the China Paviliion (about 25 minutes from my house). Callie and I went today to see the BBC's Walking with the Dinosaurs show. On a side note if this traveling show has not finished touring in the US I highly recommend it. It walks you through the history of dinosaurs with life size robotic and human propelled dinosaurs. We arrive in the arena and it looks like a state of the art American concert arena. This is huge for China. Now with such a great venue, Shanghai is attracting more English talent. March 9 Mark and I are going to see The Eagles and four days later Usher will be in town. I am soaking up as much American culture as possible. Although we also have gotten a Gap (thumbs up from expats) and a Sam's Club (big disappoint says expats) in the last few months I have not visitied either. Guess I do not need either of them to feel at home. Keep praying that Mark's job finds a position in the US that would be good for Mark or we will probably be here one more year and away from all of you.
